The Buffa Lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to work on a project entitled “Multi-omics characterization of the hypoxia response to dissect mechanisms of cancer progression and metastasis”. The laboratory uses systems biology approaches to understand how cancer evolves and responds to treatment, and how the tumor microenvironment affects this process. In our previous studies, we have extensively characterized the transcriptional response to hypoxia, in bulk and single cells, in multiple cancer types, but the role of epigenetic changes remains unexplored. This project aims to understand the reprogramming of the cells exposed to early and chronic hypoxia in multiple experimental models, with a particular focus on epigenetics and single cell sequencing. The project will involve in vitro cell culture, organoids and next generation sequencing approaches.
The ideal candidate will possess robust communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work autonomously. Additionally, they should be capable of fostering collaboration and constructive contributions within IFOM's scientific environment.
Excellent oral and written English.
PhD in molecular or cellular biology or a related field.
