We are seeking a skilled Piping Material Engineer to join our dynamic team in Milan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in material science and engineering, with a focus on piping systems. You will be responsible for selecting appropriate materials for piping applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications, and collaborating with project teams to optimize design and performance.
Conduct material selection and analysis for piping systems based on project requirements, environmental conditions, and fluid characteristics.
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure that material specifications align with project objectives and industry standards.
Evaluate and recommend materials based on mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including material data sheets, specifications, and reports.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in piping materials and industry trends to provide informed recommendations.
Participate in project meetings, providing input on material-related issues and solutions.
Conduct failure analysis and investigate material-related issues in existing piping systems.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards pertaining to material selection and usage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping materials engineering or a related role within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of piping materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, as well as relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
Familiarity with PUMA software is a plus.
Proficiency in material selection software and engineering tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal); proficiency in Italian is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
