Molecular Account Executive

Primary Function

The Molecular Account Executive is responsible for managing and expanding molecular activities for assigned customers in the defined country territory. The role includes acting as an advisor/consultant to customers. The Account Manager is responsible for retention and value expansion with assigned Abbott existing as well as new possible accounts.

Major Responsibilities

1. New business acquisition
2. Renewals of expiring contracts or new tenders issued by existing customers, including price negotiations to ensure customers have the right prices
3. Establish value propositions and build business cases
4. Post-sale involvement with customers
5. Develop broad relationships with key molecular lab stakeholders including the decision-making units, clinicians, and purchasing departments
6. Serve customer requests and forward them to the respective Service department for technical and applicational questions
7. Become an advisor/consultant to customers on lab productivity, use, and/or design
8. Work actively in the CRM system, keeping customer data up to date and reporting activities and market data
9. Act as the single point of contact that responds to customers promptly

Education

Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent

Background

1. Experience in the IVD laboratory diagnostics business
2. Experience in sales is preferable but not mandatory if there is strong experience in the molecular diagnostic field
3. Experience in the molecular laboratory field is mandatory
4. Strong experience in maintaining and developing customer relationships
5. Native in the local language/English; other languages are advantageous
