Marketing Director Neuromodulation

About the role
We are looking for our new marketing director – Neuromodulation EMEA. Positive and inspiring, we expect him to embrace our culture and act as a role model to embark us into our new journey.
As a member of the Neuromodulation EMEA Leadership Team, the core objective of your role will be to drive incremental revenue through significant market growth and market share gains for our core business.
To do this, you will be expected to set up a focused market/competitive analysis, provide a long-term strategic marketing plan in coordination with the cluster Marketing teams and global counterparts and follow the execution in the region.
You will also be responsible for creating a context that enables the marketing team to develop and execute winning and sustainable strategies, whilst implementing Marketing excellence standard.
About your Key Responsibilities
- The Marketing Strategy Formulation: Creates a context that enables Marketing teams to develop winning and sustainable strategies – sets and upholds quality expectations and standards, provides appropriate direction, information and resources for strategy development. Ensures consistency of strategy across the franchises, as well as with overall BSI strategic and brand positioning objectives; Proactively promotes International strategic input into divisional decisions.
- Marketing Strategy Implementation: Creates a context that enables franchises and country organizations to effectively execute on strategic decisions – ensure consistency of execution plans with BSI objectives, and consistency of processes in strategic execution (e.g customization with the countries, monitoring systems, etc): Integrates input from the Marketing Managers to develop a divisional forecast and effectively manage OPEX: Makes final allocation decisions for implementation of resources across franchises: Engages effectively with other marketing Directors/VP to make portfolio trade-offs across divisions; Appropriately represents the needs and interests of the division at the BSI and Corporate levels.
- Business/Product knowledge: Effectively defines and positions the franchises across the division within the cross-divisional business objectives of BSI; Stays abreast of key industry and competitive developments, as well as clinical, technical and regulatory market developments, and identifies key implications for the decision; Represents BSI clinical and technical points of view to establish trust and influence higher risk external parties or customers; Influences and shapes direction of the industry for therapeutic area in line with division and BSC business objectives.
- Planning and management: Identifies organizational implications of strategic decisions and makes appropriate recommendations for change; Ensures clarity of roles and responsibilities and appropriate resource allocation across the product teams; Establishes clear direction and priorities for the division and expectations for deliverables to minimize unnecessary work; Tracks, monitors and communicates division’s progress and performance and course corrects as necessary.
- Stakeholder management and Networking: Recognizes and utilizes the key actors, decision-influencers etc, across other divisions and functions to drive division objectives and remove potential barriers; Initiates and facilitates appropriate cross-franchise/divisional communication and collaboration; Makes him/herself available and credible as a contact for other departments within BSE who seek information needed to solve a particular franchise issue.
- Motivate, develop and lead others: Drives commitment and enthusiasm for department and organizational objectives, stimulating the team to strive for strong results – Creates an environment of mutual trust/respect that fosters productivity and high level of engagement; Champions the vision for the department by rallying the team to reach goals together and connecting the work of the franchises to goals of the company; Displays high confidence in their ability and recognizes strong performance; Analyses performance of self and others to identify strengths and weaknesses and set goals for development.
- Quality: Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating to meet, comply and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific; Participate in driving quality awareness in every employee, while guiding the local organization towards improved performance and customer oriented initiatives.
About you:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree – Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering Master’s degree preferred. Completed BA/BS undergraduate degree with emphasis in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Management, or equivalent. MBA or Advanced Degree is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English.
Industry Experience: MedTech-Neuromodulation/Spine preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Marketing.
- Experience in medical education/training and HEMA will be a plus.
- Strong experience in managing and leading teams and demonstrated strategic leadership skills.
- Excellent cross-functional and management influencing skills and ability to develop customer relationships.
- Experience working globally in a virtual & matrix organization.
- Proven track record of developing marketing programs & executing marketing strategies.
- Proven strong strategic skill set and proactive cross-functional team player with capability to communicate concisely at a senior management level.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proven ability to develop and/or identify new work processes that are scalable throughout the organisation.
- Generates/Contributes to ideas for improving work processes and achieving organizational goals.
- Investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and teams.
- Extensive knowledge of marketing techniques and demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing skills.
