Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunication Technologies services and training to all Secretariat Entities, Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions, Agencies, Funds and Programs of the UN system worldwide. The UNGSC is seeking to hire four (4) Individual Contractors for supporting warehousing activities related to the loading/offloading, the movement of, as well as to the disposal of materials. These positions are located in the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy, within the Warehouse and Distribution Unit (W&D), Delivery and Return Section, Supply Chain Service. The Individual Contractor (Logistics Assistant) will work under the supervision of the Chief Warehouse and Distribution Unit as well as the Team Leaders of the Logistics Operations and/or the Property Disposal Teams.

Qualifications/Special Skills
High school diploma or equivalent is required. One (1) year of working experience in logistics, supply chain management, warehouse operations or related areas is required. Experience with operating material handling equipment/forklifts up to 3 tons is required. A valid driving license Type B is required. Valid driver’s license type C is desirable. A valid forklift operator certificate (up to three (03) tons) is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
