Logistic Director

For a leading industrial company operating in the food sector and based in Rome, we are looking for a Logistics Director.

The selected candidate – leading a team – will report to the Ownership and will be responsible for logistics across three plants (all based in Lazio). Additionally, he/she will oversee an international branch.

Role Mission

The resource will focus on optimizing company logistics and coordinating resources, ensuring efficiency in handling, acceptance operations, and storage movements while adhering to shared procedures and quality and safety regulations.

Reporting to the Ownership, the manager will be responsible for plant logistics activities, handling all technical and organizational aspects related to goods movement (inbound/storage/loading and shipping/accounting) within shared strategic guidelines. He/she will act as a Key User for ERP system implementation projects and serve as the primary point of contact for HSE topics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the plant logistics team
• Oversee warehouse coordination
• Manage demand planning
• Organize transportation to optimize inbound and outbound goods flow
• Develop and implement processes for optimizing company logistics
• Organize the computerized order management system
• Supervise and monitor costs related to logistics flows
• Oversee activities related to production preparations, waste management, and regulatory compliance
• Optimize all outsourced activities

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the food sector
• Degree in Economics or Industrial Engineering preferred
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to operate cross-functionally (internally interacting with purchasing, administration, and commercial departments; externally liaising with clients and suppliers)
• Strong leadership skills
• Autonomy and planning abilities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills
• Willingness to engage in a less structured, entrepreneurial environment, where job boundaries are less defined than in multinational corporations, requiring a strong drive to see tasks through from start to finish
