Lead Auditor SA8000

Job Description

The Lead Auditor is a function in DNV Business Assurance Italy with the objective of leading the audit team in performing audits/assessments according to DNV standards and protocols, international standards, or equivalent national standards and according to the established DNV methodologies/rules.

Key Tasks:

• Regular auditing field activities.
• Manage relationships with clients and implement an approach of total customer focus.
• Carry out work for DNV efficiently and competently as required by instructions/Quality System and/or as per formal agreement between the client and DNV.
• Ensure that the independent nature of the DNV scheme is not compromised at any time.
• Maintain/acquire Auditor Registration with DNV or any other registration that forms the basis for acceptance as Lead Auditor within DNV.
• Plan and execute audits, report findings, and follow up when necessary within agreed timescales and economic frameworks.
• Meet professional practice standards and demonstrate competence in core areas.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with client personnel.
• Maintain high morale by contributing to an effective positive work environment.
• Act as a team player who works well with others and guides through the professional development process, including timely completion of reviews and goal setting.
• Maintain effective communication with line management, between audit team members, and client stakeholders.
• Ensure the correct use of production tools dedicated to auditing activities and the communication of updated data to allow proper issue and management of certificates.

• Promptly contact customers to confirm planned activities.

Qualifications:

Position Qualifications:

• Experience as a Senior Lead Auditor on the SA 8000 Scheme.
• APSCA qualification for third-party audits, SA8000 qualification, or experience in social audits constitutes a preferential title.
• Appreciated experience as a Lead Auditor on the MSC Schemes (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001).
• Demonstrated evidence of excellent communication, relationship management, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to build good relationships with customers.
• Ability to coordinate and manage an Auditors Team assigned.
• Strong and proven attitude to auditing, including mobility, flexibility, working under pressure, respect for deadlines, relations with clients, etc.
• Fluent in Italian and good knowledge of English.
• Ability to handle basic software programs and IT tools.
• Highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
