RINA is currently recruiting for a La Spezia Senior Marine Surveyor to join its office in La Spezia, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
Mission
As a Senior Marine Surveyor at RINA Services S.p.A., you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and participate in critical surveying processes within the dynamic marine industry. Your role will involve ensuring precision, reliability, and advancement in surveying practices while adhering to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Key Accountabilities
Professional Specialist: Act as a key professional specialist by staying at the forefront of industry developments, recommending enhancements to surveying procedures, and promoting safety initiatives.
Inspection and Reporting: Execute regular surveys on diverse marine assets to ensure alignment with classification and statutory mandates. Create detailed and timely inspection reports to support decision-making processes.
Leadership and Coordination: Demonstrate leadership by efficiently planning, scheduling, and overseeing surveying operations. Offer guidance to junior surveyors to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to address and resolve issues within your scope of expertise. Foster client satisfaction through effective communication and tailored solutions.
Training and Development: Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their skills and competencies, contributing to a high-performing and knowledgeable surveying team.
Quality Assurance: Ensure consistent quality in all surveying activities performed, upholding the organization's commitment to excellence and accuracy.
Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, promoting integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes and engagements.
Education
Master's Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Surveyor or 6 years' experience in engineering/inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
Familiarity with RINA's technical positioning within the marine industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Proficiency in the English language is essential for effective communication and documentation relevant to certification and related services.
Ability to develop an in-depth knowledge of RINA Rules, regulations, and safety policies, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry guidelines.
Knowledge of shipbuilding practices and operations to facilitate successful new building surveys and ship in-service surveys.
Experience in conducting marine management system audits and testing activities to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Proficiency in ship engineering systems, relevant software packages, and technical interfaces to support collaborative project environments and technical initiatives.
