Indirect Procurement Accountant

Fater is an Italian company, an equal joint venture between Procter & Gamble and Angelini Industries. It produces and distributes in 38 countries, in the Western, Central and Eastern European markets, the Ace and Neoblanc brand detergent products for fabric and household cleaning. In Italy, it has been expanding the markets for absorbent products for the person since the 1960s, and today produces and markets Pampers, Lines, Lines Specialist, and Tampax brand products.

Position:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Indirect Procurement Accountant to join our team, offering the unique opportunity to combine purchasing expertise, systems knowledge, and relationship management. This position is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with up to 3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.

As a Procurement Accountant, you will play a key role in our supply chain, supporting senior buyers in a dynamic environment centered on innovation, sustainability, and cost efficiency. You will actively participate in sourcing, contract management, and negotiations, gaining exposure to impactful cross-functional projects, such as automation initiatives, the expansion and installation of production lines and related assets, safety projects, and various other technical initiatives related to manufacturing facility services.

Additionally, you will focus on optimizing procurement processes and systems, analyzing data to propose improvements, and using modern e-procurement tools to streamline transactions, enhance company value, and prioritize high-impact projects.

Requirements:

As an Indirect Procurement Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supplier Support & Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs, assisting in sourcing suppliers that align with company standards for quality, cost, and reliability.
• Contract & Order Management: Help oversee the contract lifecycle, from order placement to delivery, ensuring effective tracking and maintaining positive vendor relationships to optimize terms and performance.
• Process Optimization: Identify and propose enhancements for procurement processes, focusing on streamlining workflows and reducing transactional activities by leveraging modern e-procurement tools.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct data analysis to track spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making, providing reports that highlight key insights for ongoing improvements.
• Internal Relationship Building: Foster strong partnerships with internal teams across departments to ensure a thorough understanding of their purchasing requirements and promote alignment with procurement goals.

In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing purchasing processes, utilizing data insights and digital procurement systems to bring efficiency and add value to the company’s indirect procurement activities.

Additional Information:

Education & Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Economy or a related technical field; a Master’s is a plus. Up to 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a relevant role.

Skills & Attributes: High emotional intelligence, communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships. Good analytical skills and comfort with numbers and data analysis. Curiosity and ambition to constantly improve processes. Fluency in English and Italian. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
