On behalf of an important client - multinational pharma company with production sites in Italy - we are looking for the

Industrial Hygiene Lead (Pharma plant)

The Industrial Hygiene Lead (EHS Dept) will play a critical role in ensuring workplace health and safety by managing industrial hygiene programs, conducting exposure assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A key part of this role is to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring that safety and hygiene considerations are integrated from the outset of new product design and manufacturing. This role will also oversee compliance with Company’s health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the industrial hygiene program to monitor and control workplace health hazards, including exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, biological agents, and other environmental risks. Ensure all practices align with Company's global health, safety, and environmental standards.
  2. Exposure Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct routine industrial hygiene assessments and exposure monitoring to identify potential health risks. Ensure all exposure monitoring is aligned with Company's internal safety and hygiene protocols.
  3. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including ISO, OSHA, NIOSH, and EPA, while integrating company's global compliance standards.
  4. Risk Identification & Control: Identify workplace health risks, recommend mitigation measures for exposure to physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards, and work closely with other departments to implement corrective actions in alignment with company’s safety culture and best practices for managing health hazards.
  5. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, engineering, and manufacturing) to integrate industrial hygiene considerations into the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  6. Health and Safety Education & Training: Develop and deliver training programs on industrial hygiene principles, hazard control techniques, and the safe handling of chemicals and materials. Ensure that employees are trained on company’s health and safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  7. PPE Program Oversight: Manage the selection, implementation, and training related to PPE to ensure that employees are adequately protected based on exposure risks.
  8. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze industrial hygiene data, prepare reports on exposure assessments, control measures, and the effectiveness of health and safety programs.
  9. Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Monitor and assess the industrial hygiene program to ensure continuous improvement.

Required:

  1. Fluent knowledge of English
  2. At least 5 years of experience in similar roles ideally in a pharma company
  3. Experience in GMP Environment
  4. Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent is highly preferred.

Permanent role, based in Latina (within production site).
