HR Business Partner Supply Chain Italy, Spain

We have a new opportunity supporting the Supply Chain in Italy and Spain.

Are you the HR Business Partner to support our outsourced Distribution Centers in Italy and Spain? Are you ready to support 2 existing DC’s, 2 currently under construction – with 3 more to open in the coming 2 years?

We look for an HRBP to ensure all HR related matters for the Supply Chain in Italy and Spain are delivered. Read on.

These are your daily actions

Working at Action isn't like working at any other company. With more than 2900 stores, 16 distribution centers, hubs, cross docks and an ambitious growth plan, our supply chain is always evolving.

The main focus of the HRBP is to deploy the HR strategy correctly and ensure the Supply Chain Italy and Spain achieves its goals. Today we have our first Italian distribution center in the North, Spanish DC near Madrid and two DC’s in North and Middle Italy being built. Your focus will be on the teams that manage the Outsourced providers and the dispatch departments in each DC – by the end of 2025 this will be 40 FTE and recruitment for 20 FTE more in progress.

The coming year we open two new DC’s in Italy. You will deliver the hiring and onboarding firstly and support leaders to stabilize the DC’s after opening. You will lead this as a team effort, existing of colleagues from HR Project Management, HR Services and HR Central.

To be connected you will visit each distribution center (In Italy two in the North and one in the Centre, with in Spain a DC close to Madrid) regularly. Understand their unique challenges, develop staffing plans and strategies to ensure each centre is adequately staffed with the right skill sets.

Furthermore:

  • Organizing and proactively following up the HR deliverables to provide quality services on the one hand, and to contribute as HR department to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives on the other.
  • Coordination of HR processes (ensure timely and compliant preparation of reports and declarations)
  • Monitor the HR activities concerning labor and social security law, payroll, performance appraisals, training and development, recruitment and remuneration systems.
  • In cooperation with the line managers, identify and deliver the development needs of the employees within the organization
  • Develop and coordinate the introduction of HR regulations and procedures, monitor changes in labor law provisions and HR trends
  • Preparation of reports, summaries and statements resulting from applicable legal provisions and in relation with company internal tools and requirements
  • Continuously look for improvements in processes, procedures and work instructions in order to optimize the operation of the department and to achieve efficiency.
  • The HRBP SC Italy/Spain is part of the Action SC HR Department and reports directly to the Head of HR for SC, indirect report to the Regional SC Manager.

Weekly, more than 11 million customers visit one of our 2900+ stores in Europe, and we regularly open new stores and distribution centers. It's a growing logistical challenge, requiring international collaboration to get over 6,000 products into the stores at the lowest price.

In Supply Chain currently 12.000 People ensure the stores are full. We operate in 7 countries and will add more DC’s in more countries the coming years. Together as HR Supply Chain team we make sure the right people are motivated in their jobs. We work together as international team and with our colleagues from HR Expertise and Services. Together with the Supply Chain Operations we are One Action.

This is you

You're familiar with an international Supply Chain environment and can hold your own in the fast-paced retail world. We are looking for someone who actively seeks out the needs and wishes of the internal client and delivers, when possible, even more quickly than agreed or expected from the (internal) client. You combine strategic HR Business Partnering with hands on delivery like recruitment. You see this role as a basis for personal growth when we add more DC’s in Italy, Spain and additional countries like Portugal.

Furthermore:

  • Undergraduate Bachelor/Master level position (preferably with a degree in the field of Human Resource Management or International Business).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role is a big plus.
  • Excellent command of the English and Spanish language, verbal and written.
  • Good organizational skills and results-oriented.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR instruments
  • Able to support the Outsourced service managers with insights in local wage development, labour market and labour relations. Experience in Union Relationships will be a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends and practices within HR, locally and internationally
  • Leadership, seniority and (professional) independence, with a clear and unconditional service orientation towards the business
  • Flexible and willingness to travel frequently. Due to the location of the Distribution Centres a valid driver's license is essential for this role.
