Head of Solar Procurement

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting a Head of Solar Procurement to lead procurement activities for solar projects across all the countries where the company operates.

Based in Italy, the candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and high-quality sourcing of key solar components in multiple European countries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement the procurement strategy for solar PV projects across multiple international markets.
2. Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure the best commercial and technical solutions.
3. Lead the negotiation of contracts, framework agreements, and supply terms for key components such as PV modules, inverters, trackers, and balance of system (BoS) equipment.
4. Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
5. Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to optimise procurement decisions.
6. Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, development, construction, and finance, to support project execution.
7. Develop and maintain a strong supplier network, identifying new opportunities for strategic partnerships.
8. Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to procurement and supply chain management.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing within the solar energy sector.
3. Strong knowledge of solar PV components and supplier networks.
4. Experience in negotiating large-scale supply agreements and managing international procurement processes.
5. Excellent understanding of global supply chain dynamics, pricing models, and risk mitigation strategies.
6. Ability to work in an international environment, managing procurement activities across multiple countries.
7. Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
8. Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
