Head of Product Compliance

Job responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Product Compliance to join our prestigious industrial company. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Direction, this pivotal role will ensure the highest standards of product compliance across all Business Units, as technical products compliance function, especially in relation to the supplier network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive product compliance system that aligns with our company's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Compliance Management:
    Ensuring Compliance and evaluating impact in the industrial activities. This includes creating a Lab testing plan to monitor compliance according to legal requirements and industry standards.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify potential compliance risks within the Industrial organization. This includes evaluating existing processes and determining areas that may require improvements or adjustments (raw material audit, industrial process audit, …).
  3. Develop and execute a robust product compliance system that supports the company’s business objectives.
  4. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of product compliance programs across all BUs.
  5. Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  6. Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Act as a liaison between different departments and management: Supply Chain, Legal, Sourcing, Internal Audit, Manufacturing, Design & Product Development.
  8. Collaborate with senior management, product development teams, and other stakeholders to integrate compliance requirements into the product lifecycle.
  9. Provide guidance and support to all BUs on compliance-related matters, ensuring a consistent approach to compliance across the organization.
  10. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and industry bodies, representing the company in compliance-related matters.
  11. Training and Development:
    Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring that staff are informed about legal changes and understand the importance of compliance in their daily activities.
  12. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends, ensuring the company’s compliance programs are up-to-date and effective.
  13. Promote a culture of compliance through regular communication, training, and awareness initiatives.
  14. Reporting and Documentation:
    Prepare and present regular compliance reports to the CEO, Quality Assurance Direction, and other Board Functions.
  15. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all compliance activities, audits, investigations, and Risk Assessments.
  16. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of compliance issues and resolutions.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in product compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role; experience in the luxury or industrial sector is highly appreciated.
  3. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to product compliance.
  4. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful compliance programs.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  8. Fluent in English; French is highly appreciated.
