Ground Software Engineer

Tyvak International is seeking new members to join their team to support space vehicle development. Tyvak focuses on developing and integrating key components and technologies into highly integrated and high-performance nano-satellite vehicles. The team’s skillset ranges from architecture, design, build, and test of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems integrated into small spacecraft.

Tyvak International, a Terran Orbital company, is seeking a motivated Ground Software Engineer who, reporting to the Software Area Manager, will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nano-satellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain simple, reliable, and fault-tolerant software.
2. Write comprehensive unit and regression tests in existing frameworks.
3. Integrate and test software in wide and interlaced ground segment environments.
4. Work with multiple engineering teams to establish software requirements and design.
5. Work with various engineering teams to support the commissioning of newly launched satellites.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience developing Python or other high-level language (Java, C#) applications for distributed systems.
3. Good knowledge of Linux Operating System principles.
4. Knowledge of networking and distributed systems principles (ISO/OSI stack, web concepts, etc.).
5. Knowledge of relational and non-relational database principles.
6. Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Italian and in English.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the team towards a common goal.
9. Positive and proactive person and able to manage stress and deadlines.
10. Problem solver, able to analyze situations and find practical solutions.

Desired Skills

1. Hands-on experience in developing web back-end applications in Python and the most common web frameworks (Django, Flask).
2. Hands-on experience in developing web front-end applications with modern Javascript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue).
3. Experience with modern relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Timescale, Influx DB).

Salary and benefits are EU market competitive and include Welfare, Benefits, Private Insurance, and Flexible working Hours. The gross annual salary (RAL) will be commensurate with the candidate's level of seniority, expertise, and overall contribution to the role, ensuring a fair and competitive package.
