Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion, and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina, and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position:

The main activities of the Deputy Manager are to support the Sport Manager to:

  • Develop detailed plans, documents, and timelines for Figure Skating.
  • Coordinate with venue management, different MICO26 FAs, Venue Owner, OBS, International Federation (ISU), technical officials, and other relevant parties to ensure all aspects of the events are properly organized and executed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Sports Manager, including preparing reports and meeting minutes, maintaining documentation, and managing correspondence related to Figure Skating discipline.
  • Assist in budget management and resource allocation for Figure Skating events, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Create and review policies, manuals, and other documents related to Figure Skating competitions, events, and venue operations.
  • Translate from Italian-English and English-Italian policies, manuals, and other documents related to Figure Skating competitions, events, and venue operations.
  • Recruit, educate, and manage SPT Team workforce, including coordinator, sport assistant, NTOs, volunteers, forerunners, contractors, and other workforce.
  • Prepare all paperwork related to the workforce recruitment, education, and management.
  • Manage FOP operations team during Figure Skating training and competitions.
  • Assist in providing information regarding required sports equipment and manage sports equipment.
  • Prepare and manage equipment based on TEAP, FF&E.
  • Check and manage shuttle from village/accommodation to venue schedules for workforce and athletes.
  • Reply to requests and provide necessary information and documents to other MICO26 FAs and MICO26 stakeholders.
  • Educate MICO26 FAs regarding Figure Skating events and sports specifics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for ISU, National Technical Officials (NTO), participating athletes and team officials, and other stakeholders providing assistance in operational, organizational, and logistical requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating training sessions, practice runs, or athletes and teams leading up to the competitions.
  • Oversee and manage FOP operations during the ISU events.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Figure Skating competitions, including managing competition schedules, start lists, and result reporting.
  • Work closely with technical delegates and IF officials to ensure adherence to international regulations and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise during the competitions.
  • Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks during Figure Skating training and competition.
  • Coordinate with medical personnel and emergency response teams to ensure the availability of prompt and effective medical support onsite.
  • Manage relationships with International and National Federations and serve as their direct point of contact with the Venue Team, especially for technical matters.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Sports Management, Event Management, Sports Event Organization, Event Organization, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Figure Skating disciplines, competition rules, and regulations preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Italian required.
  • This is a full-time position based in Milano. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the event schedule. The position will also require working in an outdoor environment during events.
