Offer Description
As part of the MOOBYF project, the research fellow will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Planning and coordinating field sampling protocols, including the collection of eDNA at various depths and distances from FADs using equipment such as Niskin bottles, portable filtering devices, and passive samplers (metaprobe).
- Extracting, amplifying (PCR/qPCR), and preparing environmental DNA samples for metabarcoding of fish and eukaryotes of marine environments through next-generation sequencing (NGS).
- Analyzing molecular data using bioinformatics tools, integrating standardized pipelines for NGS data processing, and identifying biodiversity by creating and using dedicated taxonomic databases.
- Comparing eDNA data with other sources, such as underwater video recordings, to validate results.
- Contributing to the creation of reference databases for identified species and supporting data integration into the project.
