About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
The Energy Unit, specifically the Transmission & Distribution division, is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is to support client projects from inception and master planning through concept and detailed design stages all the way to commissioning and final completion.
Our work is varied and spans across all forms of Renewable Power Generation, Network Design, Grid Connections, Net Zero Carbon aspirations and Estate Management Planning. We also provide detailed design solutions in the renewables, aviation, data centre, healthcare, nuclear and defence sectors.
Typical projects will include working from a client brief to produce tender specifications, calculations, designs and drawings for new or renovated 11k V and 33k V switchgear networks and renewable energy connections with HV cable connections, transformers, diesel generators, load banks, LV interfaces, SCADA interfaces and protection schemes.
The successful candidate will provide technical solutions and project leadership in the production of electrical designs for major electrical and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works. You will be expected to become familiar with the company procedures and provide technical expertise and contributions to bids and proposals in addition to project planning, project delivery and execution to a high standard.
You will manage engineering projects and deliverables ensuring they meet the client’s expectations and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget. You will also support and contribute to the development of junior staff and graduates.
