The Role
Herzum is looking for an experienced Senior Software Architect (Java Spring) to join our team and support one of our Clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drive technological advancements as an innovative and proactive software architect.
2. Take responsibility within a self-organized team, actively shaping work methods and environment.
3. Develop, test, and operate cloud-based applications.
4. Design applications, components, interfaces, and user interfaces.
5. Define and implement new functionalities, including effort estimation.
6. Ensure end-to-end implementation (analysis, development, testing, and operations) of features and applications.
7. Guarantee smooth application operation in a complex system landscape.
8. Act as a senior architect, fostering team development and guiding colleagues through technical and methodological challenges.
9. Take cross-team responsibility to deliver high-value features for customers.
10. Mediation and providing solutions in conflict situations, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.

Must-Have Requirements:

1. Degree in Computer Science (ETH, Uni, FH) or equivalent qualification.
2. Extensive experience with Java and Spring, as well as cloud-based test and build toolchains (Tekton).
3. Strong knowledge of agile software development, design patterns, test-driven development, and source code management (Git/Bitbucket).
4. Expertise in cloud architectures and patterns (particularly OpenShift, Docker, etc.).
5. Strong affinity for clean software architecture and simple solution approaches.
6. Excellent communication skills and fluent German (negotiation level).

Location: 40% on-site in Bern, 60% remote (within Switzerland only, due to internal regulations).
