Position Summary: Villanova University College of Nursing has an ongoing need for highly qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner adjunct (part-time) faculty to provide clinical instruction. Further information about the College of Nursing can be found at www.villanova.edu/nursing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the course objectives for the course which adjunct faculty is assigned and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing.
- Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting.
- If a clinical course, visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester.
- Provide supervision of students in weekly case presentations groups.
- Prepare student to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques.
- Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty. Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence-based practice.
- Evaluate students’ clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation.
- Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession.
- Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in discipline; certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania. Experience in discipline required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in clinical teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Doctoral degree preferred.
