About The Position
- The Controls Engineer position will be based out of Zeeco's Lissone office. The position will require knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on Incinerators division products and technical requirements. The position will be responsible for all aspects of assigned jobs to assure quality products are delivered on time and ensuring cost budget controls are followed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review of project engineering and sales packages to determine Zeeco's scope of supply.
- Reading the customer specifications and implementing those specifications as they apply to the "AS SOLD" equipment, highlighting any incongruence or scope creep.
- Development of P&ID drawings in coordination with the project, sales and process engineers to meet the Zeeco "AS SOLD" package and contractual requirements.
- Development of the Control Narrative and Cause & Effect diagram in coordination with the process engineers.
- Develop data sheets and hook-ups drawings for all the instruments and valves in Zeeco scope: temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters along with control valves, positioners, analytical, and various other types of instrumentation.
- Develop and review drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and aviation warning light systems. Included drawings are general arrangement, internal layout, schematics and interconnection and wire diagrams.
- Prepare and review cable BOM's, routing plans and schedules.
- Prepare RFQ or Materials Requisition for vendors and perform the technical and commercial alignment of the offers received. Coordinate with the Procurement Dept for the PO placement.
- Support the PM to review the budget assigned to the control portion, in order to remain within the budget and make every effort to improve it.
- Prepare bid tab for the control items for PE/PM review and discussion.
- Perform inspection and test of equipment prior to shipment from Zeeco's fabrication facility. Inspections and test may be performed with the customer and Project Engineer present.
- Occasional travel to assist the Zeeco sales group, to assist the customer with commissioning of the Zeeco supplied control system, for FAT, HAZOP and SIL meeting or technical meeting with the customer. Travel includes domestic as well as overseas destinations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualifications
- B.S. degree or Masters Degree in Engineering (Instruments, Automation, Electrical, etc.) or three (3) years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have personal computer skills.
