Manager - Data Governance

As a Data Governance Manager within our Data Platform & Analytics organization, you will be responsible for shaping and driving data governance strategies, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and business value. You will lead governance initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional cross-country teams, and foster a strong data culture to maximize the impact of Sky’s data assets.

What You'll Do

1. Define & Implement Data Governance Strategy – Drive the evolution of data governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
2. Lead Data Governance Processes – Oversee data lineage, metadata management, data quality controls, and issue resolution to enhance data trust and usability.
3. Foster a Data-Driven Culture – Promote data governance awareness, accountability, and best practices across the organization, ensuring teams understand the value of high-quality, well-managed data.
4. Collaborate with Key Stakeholders – Partner with Data Owners, Business Leaders, Data Architects, and Engineers to ensure governance policies are effectively adopted.
5. Ensure Compliance & Risk Management – Support regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) and data governance audits, ensuring best practices in data handling.
6. Drive Adoption of Governance Standards – Develop training, communication, and engagement strategies to embed governance into everyday business operations.

What You Bring

1. 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
2. Expertise in Data Governance processes, including Data Lineage, Metadata Management and Data Quality.
3. Passion for Data Culture & Change Management – Ability to influence, educate, and drive governance adoption across technical and non-technical teams.
4. Strong stakeholder management skills – Ability to engage and influence senior business and technical teams.
5. Experience with Data Governance Tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or similar) and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
