Medical Coordinator Position

EMERGENCY ONG Onlus is seeking experienced Medical Coordinators to oversee the clinical activities of its surgical projects in Afghanistan and Sierra Leone, ensuring the quality of care and compliance with hospital protocols.

Context and Work Organization

The current recruitment focuses on two countries where the organization has a long-standing presence: Afghanistan and Sierra Leone.

In Afghanistan, EMERGENCY has been working since 1999 with multiple surgical centers and facilities. In Sierra Leone, the Surgical Center in Goderich serves as the referral hospital for surgery and traumatology.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Management: Lead clinical activities within the hospital, ensuring adherence to EMERGENCY's protocols and guidelines.
2. Quality and Safety: Ensure the quality of care and patient safety by monitoring clinical outcomes.
3. Protocol Development: Collaborate in updating and monitoring clinical protocols and therapeutic guidelines.
4. Leadership, Training and Development: Lead and motivate the clinical team, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
5. Resource Management: Manage the clinical team and analyze staffing needs.
6. Data Monitoring: Acquire proficiency in using systems for monitoring clinical activities.
7. Collaboration with Non-Clinical Departments: Establish collaboration with non-clinical departments to ensure optimal workflows.

Requirements

• Medical degree with a specialization in Surgery, Anesthesia and Intensive Care, or Emergency Medicine.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a hospital department.
• Commitment to understanding EMERGENCY's approach and willingness to work in the field for at least one year.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in English.
