Job Summary

The position belongs to the Compression Systems & Services business unit for the distribution channel. Develops and manages the distribution accounts, supports them to sell all our product portfolio, trains the technical sales people, and assists them with end customers. Formulates sales forecasts, budgets, and develops growth plans for expertise areas and the distributors. Drives the distributor and/or sales force to achieve or exceed sales targets. Pursues major prospects and leads in major negotiations, constructing appropriate strategy and terms of sales.

Responsibilities

  • Sales: Directs the sales force to achieve sales and profit goals through market penetration. Develops new distribution outlets as needed. Analyzes market potential for new products and applications. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Manages multiple areas and adjusts sales goals and procedures for each area. Increases business among existing clients and promotes the organization to new customers, resellers, and distributors in order to meet strategic business objectives.
  • Distribution: Establishes effective relationships with distributor principals and key distributor personnel, ensuring distributor loyalty to GDI/Champion/IR products. Develops and upgrades distributor organization to provide maximum sales coverage. Ensures complete product offering is being marketed and sold by both distributor and local resellers. Encourages distributor growth and loyalty to the company through continuous support and assistance. Performs according to company strategy in terms of distribution channels, product mix, and selling level.
  • Targets: Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the sales volume.
  • Management: Develops and maintains a competent workforce through recruitment, training, coaching, and establishing goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Technical background (High School Technical degree/Bachelor degree in Engineering) or in-depth knowledge of rotary compressors, dryers, and filters. Previous experience in a similar position will be a plus.
  • Sales techniques and demonstrated ability.
  • Flexibility and problem-solving ability.
  • Microsoft package and e-mail essential, Siebel knowledge advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • This position requires traveling nationwide and the availability of short trips.
  • Availability to work off-site most of the time.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are critical.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to drive change in process and systems.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Excellent ability to work in a well-structured team.
