DEVOPS SPECIALIST, Naples

Reporting to the IT Cloud Engineering Lead in Explora Journeys, our recently launched Luxury Cruises line of MSC, the DevOps specialist primary tasks will involve automating large-scale infrastructures, optimizing application deployment processes, and implementing data gathering and monitoring solutions to enhance our services performance and reliability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Design, develop, and maintain automation mechanisms and test execution for a large, multi-cloud environment, with a strong emphasis on automating testing processes to ensure software quality.
2. Integrate and improve business-specific applications in Explora Journey’s infrastructure, employing advanced automated testing strategies to validate application functionality and performance.
3. Collaborate with Explora Journeys’ architects, operations, and development teams.
4. Design and implement infrastructures and applications CI/CD pipelines, including comprehensive automated testing stages to ensure continuous integration and delivery with high reliability and efficiency.
5. Operate the infrastructure and application monitoring platforms utilizing automated testing tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.

General Requirements

1. 2-4 years of experience in DevOps or SRE.
2. A bachelor's degree in information technologies or equivalent work experience.
3. Experience working within Kanban and Agile methodologies as a team member.
4. Fluent in English, spoken and written; any other language is an asset.

Infrastructures & Platforms

1. Proven experience with public cloud infrastructures usage; AWS preferred.
2. Proven experience with GNU/Linux (RHEL or Debian) usage and administration.
3. Experience with auto-scaling mechanisms.
4. Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem.
5. Distributions: EKS (cloud), vanilla (on-premises), and EKS anywhere (on-premises).
6. Knowledge in different interfaces plugins (CRI, CNI, CSI, etc.) is an asset.

Tools and Methodologies

1. Proven experience with GitOps concepts, methodologies, and tools; Ansible, Terraform, and ArgoCD preferred.
2. Ansible: Experience in Python modules development is an asset.
3. Terraform: Experience with Terragrunt and Go modules development is an asset.
4. Experience working with GNU/Linux environment and tools.

Development

1. Proven experience with Python and Unix shell scripting; any other language is an asset.
2. Knowledge in Java development is an asset.
3. Knowledge in designing and developing serverless applications is an asset.

Monitoring and Security

1. Knowledge in monitoring & data analysis is an asset; Splunk and Elasticsearch preferred.
