Database Administrator:

MSC continues to invest and lead the world container market with ships, an extensive container fleet, intermodal and dedicated staff for its customers. The Company’s evolution to its leading brand needs consistency to market, and therefore it is paramount to standardise data, processes and management information.


ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Provide technical support of database environments, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, database maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations.
  2. Develop, implement and support backup/restore, disaster recovery, data replication procedures and exercises.
  3. Participate in all aspects of the lifecycle for database environments, in the implementation of application requested database code and configuration changes in supported database environments.
  4. Interact with various IT teams regarding work requests submitted, participate in the creation of new policies, procedures, projects and processes.
  5. Provide on call 24X7 emergency off-hours support of critical systems for database problem resolution and recovery.
  6. Evaluate, document, and recommend database-related software products within technical architecture framework.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of experience in administering and managing large databases in complex enterprise environments.
  • In-depth technical skills in SQL Server 2019 and 2022 including system installation, upgrade, server migration, backup and recovery, database maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting and SSIS.
  • Extensive knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server and SQL Replication.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of TSQL scripts.
  • Experience working with Windows server (2019, 2022), WSFC and Active Directory.
