JUNIOR DATA SCIENTIST
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Junior Data Scientist, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and data scientists to develop, implement, and optimize data-driven solutions. Your work will focus on building data pipelines, managing databases, and leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for cloud-based data operations. This role is perfect for graduates with a strong foundation in databases, ETL processes, and a passion for data analysis and machine learning.
ABOUT YOUR TASKS
- Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines using ETL processes to ensure the efficient movement and transformation of data.
- Design and manage databases, ensuring data integrity, optimization, and availability for analytics.
- Collaborate with the data science team to preprocess and prepare data for machine learning models.
- Implement cloud-based solutions using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services to support data operations and storage.
- Monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues related to data quality and performance.
- Document data architecture, processes, and models, ensuring transparency and ease of collaboration.
- Participate in team meetings, providing insights on improving existing data processes and workflows.
ABOUT YOU
- Strong knowledge of database management, including SQL for query writing, optimization, and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data transformation and loading.
- Basic experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including its services such as Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Data Flow, and Oracle Object Storage.
- Understanding of Python for data manipulation and automation tasks.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
- Ability to work within a team and communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong motivation and enthusiasm to grow within the field of data science.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with other database platforms like MySQL, Oracle, DB2 or SQLServer.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, including data visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikSense.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and the ability to implement models using Python libraries like Scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data-related projects and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to identify and solve performance bottlenecks in large-scale data environments.
