CYBER DEFENSE SPECIALIST

MSC Cruises, the 3rd largest cruise operator globally, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Defense Specialist to join our dynamic and international team in Naples. The position will execute and deliver cyber security projects on shoreside environments and help accelerate MSC Cruises' journey to protect computer systems, networks, and data. The successful candidate will also update and tune security tools (e.g., Firewall, XDR, Proxy). The role involves assistance and remote support to the incident response cyber unit.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Operate and optimize security tooling/products, including security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, logging and auditing, event and incident management, privileged access management, and authentication.
2. Update documentation and maintain security controls and tools as needed.
3. Support the implementation of new security controls and software.
4. Support IT during patching and vulnerability remediation phases.
5. Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities.
6. Support IT and Users during technical troubleshooting.
7. Participate in the Incident response process.
8. Review configurations for continuous improvement to increase the level of security and protection.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
10. Availability to travel (10% of the time).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. A degree in computer science, IT, computer engineering, or related qualification.
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in network security or another cybersecurity role.
3. Good knowledge of operating systems’ administration and network security technologies (e.g., security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, etc.).
4. Ability to manage multiple engagements & competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
5. Italian as primary language, fluent English, French is a plus.
6. Available to support on-call operation activities during non-standard working hours.
7. Adaptable individual and team player.
8. Knowledge and/or certification on the following solutions is considered a plus: AWS Cloud Services, AWS Systems Manager, AWS Audit Manager, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Checkpoint, Microsoft Azure/O365, Splunk.
9. The following certifications are considered a plus: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, SANS GIAC.
