SCA Group is looking for a Controller based in Genoa, Italy.

Scope of position

The Controller assists the Finance and Accounting department by supporting the preparation of financial reports, budget management, and internal audits. Collaborating closely with the Finance and Administration Manager, as well as other financial professionals, the Controller ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management across the organization.

Tasks and responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support the consolidation of financial data from various departments to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and distribute to management internal financial reports for decision-making purposes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying and explaining variances.
• Provide support in financial planning and analysis activities.

General Accounting:

• Perform Controlling tasks on General Ledger accuracy.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation for and coordination of internal and external audits.
• Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.

Cost Control and Analysis:

• Assist in the analysis of cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Provide support in the preparation of cost reports and variance analysis.

Requirements and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus but not required.
