Chief Project Engineer

Chief Project Engineer

Inside the Product Engineering Department, the Chief Project Engineer reports directly to the Product Engineering Manager and has the following main responsibilities:

1. Achieving the Quality, Cost, and Time objectives with regards to product design activities.
2. Implementing product/project objectives and defining the technical contents of the product, with the declination of the requirements on the technical characteristics of the product and management in development.
3. Planning product development activities to respect project timelines.
4. Monitoring the progress of activities in the projects, highlighting the deviations between what was planned and what was achieved, and adopting the necessary corrective actions.
5. Managing the drafting and updating of Project Documentation.
6. Supporting the definition of the Prevention and Validation Plan of the project; ensuring their correct execution with regards to Product Engineering activities.
7. Promoting the adoption of "concurrent engineering" among Development activities and making the necessary resources available to promote "concurrent engineering" at the Product Development Platform level.
8. Approving drawings and product lists for Prototypes and Production (CID status P/A).
9. Participating in the cross-functional Platform team for product development.
10. Providing technical support to the operational activities of assembly and testing of prototypes and production vehicles.

Main skills required for the position:

1. Engineering University Degree.
2. At least 3/5 years of previous experience in the automotive or similar sectors.
3. Knowledge of project management tools (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project).
4. Knowledge of vehicle structures (mechanics of bodywork systems).
5. Good knowledge of mechanical parts/groups/assemblies, systems, bodywork.
6. Ability to read technical drawings and bills of materials.
7. Knowledge of the functionality of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
8. Absolute availability to travel nationally and internationally, even for long periods.
9. Italian Mother-tongue and English at least intermediate.
10. Good team management/coordination skills.
