As part of its expansion strategy, the company is seeking to strengthen its leadership team in Italy with a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead operations in Italy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, with specific expertise in trading or financial markets. The successful candidate should have a deep understanding of the derivatives and payments market, as well as comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements in Italy, including compliance frameworks, corporate governance structures, and legal aspects of financial services operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Providing strategic direction and leadership for the Italian operations, including its Spanish branch, ensuring growth and operational excellence.
2. Leading and managing key departments (front and back office) including Revenue Generation, Operations, Finance, Risk Management, and Compliance.
3. Maintaining and developing relationships with the Bank of Italy and other regulatory bodies, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and corporate governance.
4. Ensuring the company adheres to all regulatory requirements, including those governing derivatives, payment systems, and institutional financial transactions.
5. Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, shareholders, and employees.
6. Identifying, assessing, and managing financial and operational risks to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.
7. Overseeing financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, to ensure the financial health of the company’s Italian operations.
8. Driving innovation within the company by exploring new business opportunities, products, and markets to maintain a competitive edge.
9. Aligning business strategies, growth initiatives, and company culture with the expectations of key stakeholders.
10. Upholding high ethical standards, integrity, and corporate social responsibility.

This role involves regular travel to London and Madrid for business purposes.

Essential Experience & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should have:

1. A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the Italian financial market, with a deep understanding of Italian regulations.
2. Proven experience in a senior leadership role within financial services, ideally with a background in trading or financial markets.
3. Strong governance and regulatory experience, including legal aspects and corporate governance structures.
4. Experience working with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing risk frameworks.
5. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with regulatory bodies.
6. Fluency in Italian and proficiency in English.
