Cannabis Operations Safety Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a Cannabis Operations Safety & Compliance Coordinator who will serve as the key support administrator for cannabis operations and is responsible for the oversight of all Verona Collective Safety & Compliance regulations and auditing practices, both within and at the Verona Collective grow facility and at all of the Verona Collective retail locations. They must be a resourceful self-starter, people and service-oriented, extremely organized, excel at juggling multiple projects, and comfortable working with teams across multiple functions. The Safety & Compliance Coordinator will be expected to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with staff and teams across Oneida Indian Nation and various vendors. The Safety & Compliance Coordinator will report to the Director of Cannabis Production for Verona Collective.

This on-site position is based in Verona, NY.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs.
• Advise and lead team members on all safety-related topics.
• Prepare educational seminars and safety onboarding for team members.
• Review existing policies and procedures.
• Adhere to and actively manage all safety and compliance rules and regulations.
• Work with People & Culture to ensure appropriate safety and compliance onboarding program exists and is actively followed at all Verona Collective locations.
• Conduct bi-annual risk assessments for all Verona Collective properties.
• Enforce preventative measures.
• Maintain and update SDS books.
• Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
• Oversee workplace repair, installations, and any other work that impacts team member safety.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator, Compliance Coordinator, or a similar role
• Excellent knowledge of state guidelines and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Working knowledge of safety management information system
• Proficient in MS Office
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Certificate in occupational health and safety
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 20 lbs.
