We are seeking a Statistician to contribute to the design, generation, and analysis of datasets used in the development of medical devices, neural network training, and clinical research. This role combines deep statistical expertise with hands-on data handling and programming. You will be responsible for study design, sample size estimation, and the creation of high-quality, structured datasets. The ideal candidate has experience working with image and metadata pipelines, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of regulatory standards in healthcare and AI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Python-based pipelines to generate, preprocess, and manage datasets of images and corresponding metadata.
- Own the dataset lifecycle, including stratification, versioning, documentation, and quality control, ensuring reproducibility.
- Use SQL to extract, transform, and structure data from clinical and operational sources, and integrate workflows with tools such as Git, DVC, and cloud environments.
- Analyze dataset composition and system/model performance results.
- Apply statistical methods for outlier detection, hypothesis testing, and metrics analysis.
- Support performance evaluation by identifying trends, inconsistencies, and data-driven insights.
- Follow data privacy regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA and work in compliance with EMA, FDA, and ISO standards, including ISO 13485, GCP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Contribute to documentation required for audits, internal reviews, and regulatory submissions.
- Design statistical frameworks for dataset creation and clinical/non-clinical studies.
- Perform sample size calculations based on power, precision, and study objectives.
- Define stratification strategies and inclusion/exclusion criteria to ensure representative and statistically valid datasets.
Requirements:
- Strong background in statistics, including study design, power/sample size estimation, and data stratification.
- Proficiency in R, Python and SQL for data handling, analysis, and automation.
- Expertise in outlier detection, statistical testing (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square), and performance metrics analysis.
- Experience working with image-based datasets and structured metadata.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in clinical or health-related domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Educational or professional background in biology, bioinformatics, or a clinical research environment.
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
- Familiarity with clinical trials, medical devices, or AI/ML applications in healthcare.
- Experience working under a quality management system or in regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, EMA).
