Job Role/Purpose
At AGCS we combine specialist expertise and global reach to underwrite some of the largest and most complex aviation industry exposures. This allows us to establish a reputation as a leader in the market.
Based in Milan and reporting to the Regional Head of Aviation Underwriting based in Paris, you will work closely with your regional team (including the local UW team in Milan) as well as with clients and brokers to develop personalised solutions as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet Aviation targets regionally including global elements. Your responsibilities also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business.
You will cover a large geographical area: Italy / France / Benelux / Spain / Portugal / Turkey / Greece / Malta / Middle East / Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite in line with Aviation governance framework e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles
• Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
• Actively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Distribution, Claims, Operations
• Contribute to the development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Aviation
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)
• Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers, or that producers have issued documentation

Key Requirements

• You have a degree in Engineering, Economics or other appropriate discipline
• You are fluent in Italian and English
• You are interested in working in an international environment
• You are a team player
• You can work under pressure
• Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
• You create relationships and communicate at all levels and with a wide range of people
• You embrace agile working and engage in constant learning, to adapt to internal and external customer needs
• You are curious and a fast learner
• You are interested in the Aviation industry
• Experience in underwriting / broking / insurance industry would be a plus
