We’re looking for an Automation Engineer - Electronic Team Lead (m/f/d) to contribute in developing our systems and future complex systems design, leading our young and talented team in Pisa and Saerbeck (Germany).

What role will you play in building a green hydrogen future?
As Team Lead:
- Lead a small and effective international team of Automation, Electronic and Electric engineers, based in Italy and Germany;
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, guidance and knowledge management within the team and to other departments such as Functional Safety, Testing, R&D, SW;
- Work in conjunction with other team members to organize and complete various electronic and electric design projects to optimize single and multi-core devices;
- Supervise system design for EM compatibility optimization;
- Support the production, assembly and testing of electronic boards;
- Support hardware evaluation and prototype validation for continuous improvement;
- Work as a team to help certify Enapter products in key customer regions.
With a focus as Automation Engineer:
- Engineering and implementation of PLC Software in Multicore systems (Nexus1000, Flex120).
- Jointly develop the future family of products for Enapter;
- Design control cabinet layouts and cable routings;
- Select components, sensors and actuators for the specified purposes;
- Supervise and monitor the building and installation of electrical cabinets;
- Support and contribute to the build of system control software.
What do you need to help make our goals a reality?
- First things first: Enthusiasm for the part green hydrogen will play in tomorrow's world and Enapter's role in it
- Master's degree in automation/electronic engineering or equivalent, with 7+ years of professional work experience.
- Experience streamlining processes for production. Having worked on high power industrial systems is a plus;
- Experience in PLCs und control systems;
- Knowledge of relevant norms and standards such as IEC 61439, IEC 60204, EU Low Voltage Directive, risk assessment (ISO 12100), functional safety (IEC 61508) and ATEX requirements;
- Experience in leading a team, with direct reports is a plus;
- Knowledge of power electronics (AC/DC and DC/DC systems);
- Complex systems / plant design is a plus;
- Excellent Italian and English communication skills;
- Willingness to travel in Europe, mainly to our facility in Germany, occasionally.
- Skills in working with software tools such as ePlan, Altium, TIA Portal is a plus;
- Expertise in electronic boards design and simulation is a plus;
- Expertise in PCB boards development in compliance with international safety design standards, experience with Altium is preferrable, other ECAD are a plus.
