RoleResponsibilities:
The candidate will collaborate with and support both the local and global group finance teams, reporting to the local Chief Operating Officer and with a dotted reporting line to the European Group Financial Controller. This role will initially have no direct reports, but will be integrated in a wider global team.
Responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:
Statutory Financial Reporting
- Review standalone accounts (ledger / sub-ledger accounts)
- Reviewing specific financial balance reconciliations
- Prepare Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS
- Prepare working papers for the auditors and other controlling functions
- Provide supporting information to the accounting outsourcer
- Support the VAT compensation process and reconciliation of the monthly VAT settlement
- Assist with tax compliance tasks
- Monitor administrative outsourcer delivery and service
Invoicing
- Prepare active cycle invoices and supporting revenue calculations to funds and clients in accordance with contracts and fund rules
- Monitor arrears and escalate when needed
Management Reporting
- Prepare accruals / provisions
- Prepare standalone accounts (ledger / sub-ledger accounts)
- Reviewing Intercompany balances and reconcile with group
- Collaborate to transfer pricing modelling / audit trail / invoicing
- Prepare monthly reporting package and assist with reclassification/reconciliation with statutory where needed
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support preparation of company budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare detailed variance analysis (gap analysis)
Other tasks
- Prepare and maintain company cash flow and cash monitoring
- Monitor stamp duty obligation
- Check and coordinate investors tax documentation for dividend purposes
- Undertake other ad hoc tasks or projects from time to time
Job Requirements:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the real estate industry or auditing company
- Proficiency in both Italian and English is mandatory
- Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor or Master degree)
- A professional qualification in accounting considered a distinct advantage
- Computer literacy, word processing and spread sheet skills are essential (MS Office)
- Knowledge of IFRS and Italian GAAP
- Knowledge of local corporate and taxation requirements
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations issued by Bank of Italy for Italian real estate funds considered a plus.
