Area Sales Manager Italy

Our client is one of the leading manufacturers of glass packaging for the cosmetic industry. For the Italian site, we are looking for an Area Sales Manager who, reporting to the Head of Sales, will be responsible for developing the Italian market.

Offerta

The figure will be responsible for:

  • Create budget planning and coordination with Head of Sales Italy, preparation of regular forecasts, and regular control of target/actual deviation in business development with early action plan in case of deviations.
  • Participation in training and further education measures, professional and disciplinary reporting to HoS. Leading professional and disciplinary assigned employee(s).
  • Participation in trade fairs in the area of responsibility.
  • Regular monitoring of own competitive position (customers/competitors); the Area Sales Manager must collect and analyze all relevant information on the corresponding product range for his customers and make it available to the organization.
  • The Area Sales Manager fulfills the role of decision-maker with authority to issue directives throughout the entire commercial product development process. The Area Sales Manager decides on cost-relevant processes in consultation with HoS. TPM and other Area Sales Managers work together on new inquiries, jointly oversee the launch, and visit customers together.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the data and bases resulting from his responsibility are created and maintained in the currently available IT tools (HPM, SAP). Compliance with the guidelines for pricing/quotation preparation.
  • Inquiry processing and development - starting in the current ERP tool / implementation of preliminary costing and preparation of offers, implementation of targets for receivables and inventory management, acquisition of new customers/products, operational management of the customer portfolio, contract negotiations with assigned customer portfolio, implementation of price increases in coordination with HoS, preparation and follow-up of business reviews with TOP customers, sales and profit responsibility for the assigned business area.
  • Development/follow-up of the strategy of the customer portfolio, monitoring of the competitive situation and reporting to HoS, implementation of the sales strategy, organization and preparation of TOP-to-TOP meetings with customers, and regular strategic customer meetings with HoS.

Competenze ed esperienza

The successful candidate has a proven solid sales experience in the specific sector and is used to working in a well-structured company and is willing to travel at a national level.

Main requirements:

  • Professional and methodological competence.
  • Language skills: full proficiency in Italian and full proficiency in English.
  • Social competence.
  • Experience in using ERP systems, preferably Baan and SAP.
  • MS Office knowledge.
