Offer Description

The research fellow will support the Turin Unit in the PRIN 2022 project 'Ecology and Christianity in Late Antiquity (between fourth and sixth century AD) - EchLA' dedicated to the study of ecological and environmental awareness in patristic and late antique literature. The fellow will study the possibility of an ante litteram ecological awareness, the signs of a new relation between modes and forms of production in late antique Italian and Western farms and their reflection in contemporary agronomic literature (e.g., Palladius' Opus agriculturae, Geoponica), included therein the scholia dedicated to Virgil's poetic production (Servius' commentary on the Georgics in particular), and fifth and sixth centuries legislation (Theodosian and Justinian Codes). Furthermore, the fellow will also provide scientific support for the digitisation of some texts related to the project and will participate in the scheduled dissemination activities.
