Job Description

Hybrid Role: Requires 3 days onsite at our Costa Rica office (Zona Franca UltraLAG, Level 1, Heredia) and 2 days remote per week.

Procore is looking for an Accountant to join our team. In this role, you’ll perform daily tasks, account analysis, and month-end closing activities to support the Accounting team. You’ll be working in a number of different areas of the accounting close process as well as presenting your findings to our Accounting and Finance teams for use.

The Accountant will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting. This is a hybrid position based in our office in Costa Rica. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What you’ll do:

  1. Support daily and monthly accounting functions to ensure they are accurate and processed.
  2. Provide accounting support for corporate transactions; prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; obtain supplementary information for preparing financial statements.
  3. Prepare and present an analysis of assigned areas to management, including an explanation of account fluctuations and unusual transactions.
  4. Analyze current procedures to recommend changes and help create efficiencies.
  5. Answer accounting and financial questions by researching, analyzing, and interpreting data, using spreadsheets and business data tools.
  6. Prepare internal and external financial reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
  7. Support month, quarter, and year-end close processes.
  8. Support and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or professional experience in a related field.
  2. Must be proficient in English.
  3. Experience working at a large accounting firm and/or industry.
  4. Proficient in Excel and experience using accounting and financial systems, such as NetSuite.
  5. Must be detail-oriented and highly skilled with large volumes of financial data.
  6. Effective interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external clients.
  7. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload.
