About VMware NSX-ALB (aka Avi Networks)

The Avi Networks team was the fastest growing start-up in the application delivery/load balancing space which was acquired by VMware in July 2019. We have an SDN-like architecture solving problems like ease of use, orchestration, automation and analytics for our customers. We are now the NSX advanced load balancer team within NSBU.

The NSX-ALB is deployed across data-centres and clouds, delivering better elasticity, intelligence, and cost savings by providing granular per-tenant and per-app services. NSX-ALB’s customers include 20% of Fortune 50 companies. Customers enjoy 5X faster application rollouts, actionable analytics and 70% lower cost.

Job Role and Responsibility

We are looking for a software professional with relevant experience and strong inclination to solve data-path design problems pertaining to networking load balancer. Bring in the rich experience in the field of virtualization combined with the knowledge of networking to help take our software-defined load balancer technology to the next level. Be a part of the high-quality team and work towards making the data-path more agile and feature-rich across various cloud environments. Contribute towards the ever-growing list of IPs for the NSX-ALB.

Required Skills

1. Must have at least 7-10 years of hands-on working experience with System Software Development.
2. Must have at least 5-6 years of hands-on working experience with TCP/IP networking.
3. Must have hands-on working experience with IPv6.
4. Must be able to demonstrate clear knowledge of contemporary operating systems and associated data structures.
5. Must have a proven track record of designing scalable, highly available and efficient software architectures.
6. Must possess the fundamental knowledge of networking load-balancers.
7. Must have working knowledge of Routing/NAT/Firewall services.
8. Must have proven track record of system level debugging skills.
9. Must have proven track record of working with highly agile and collaborative teams.

Preferred Skills

1. Working knowledge of Telco protocols (SCTP/Diameter etc.).
2. Familiarity with the DPDK.
3. Some hands-on with scripting languages like Python/Shell/Golang etc.
4. Effective communicator.
