Job description

As Vice President of Core Commercial Technology, you will be defining, designing, and implementing end-to-end technological solutions that support and enhance our customer lifecycle, spanning the entire lead-to-cash process, while partnering with business leaders to drive Thomson Reuters growth.

This role demands outstanding engineering, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills as well as expertise in areas including marketing, sales, CPQ, order and case management, as well as customer service and support. The successful candidate will drive technological excellence using our core tech stack—Salesforce, SAP, integration technologies, and other digital solutions.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Architect the overarching vision and strategy for core commercial technology solutions that support every phase of the customer journey.
  • Align technological strategies with business objectives to streamline the lead-to-cash process and enhance customer experience.
  • Lead the deployment and integration of core platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, and other integration/digital technologies.
  • Champion the adoption of best practices in system implementation, integration, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and efficient customer journey from initial contact through sales, order management, and customer support.
  • Drive technological improvements in areas like CPQ, order processing, case management, and customer support to meet evolving business and customer needs.
  • Mentor, guide, and grow the core commercial technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Ensure the team has the resources, training, and direction required for effective execution.
  • Engage with internal departments like marketing, sales, and customer support to understand their technological needs and challenges.
  • Develop strong relationships with external tech vendors and partners, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Oversee the core commercial technology budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic imperatives and offers optimal ROI.
  • Continuously monitor the technological landscape to identify potential new solutions, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Set up protocols and standards to ensure system security, compliance, and reliability.
  • Continually assess potential technological risks and formulate mitigation strategies.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Vice President, Core Commercial Technology if your background includes:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with extensive experience in end-to-end customer lifecycle management and commercial technologies.
  • Proficient understanding of Salesforce, SAP, digital technology platforms, and integration technologies (API, Apigee, Boomi, etc)
  • Proven track record of technological strategy formulation and execution in a commercial context.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership capabilities.
  • Bold enough to challenge the status-quo.
  • Strong thought leadership, influential communication skills, and a capacity to guide and direct field-facing initiatives through the leadership team.
  • Proven effective project management capability in a highly matrixed, customer-centric organization.
