As a Test Manager, you’ll be responsible for mentoring and leading a group of software test analysts. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that Gentrack applications meet the highest standards with respect to quality assurance. You will be responsible for overseeing Gentrack’s quality control processes, implementing quality assurance best practices into the Delivery organisation, and ensuring compliance with Gentrack quality standards and accreditations.
With line management responsibilities, you will be coaching and mentoring your direct reports, helping them to grow and develop while employing best practices. The role might require you to be customer-facing, where you’ll bring your excellent communication skills into play. As a leader, you’ll build strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Customer Success Managers, Engineering leads, and Solution Architects.

Ensuring your skills remain up to date and relevant by understanding new quality emerging technologies. Your ability to manage to and report on quality metrics and KPIs. Positive feedback from technical leads and managers on the engineering space and quantity of you and the team’s technical outputs. Positive feedback from your team and staff you are mentoring. Successfully implementing improvements to quality practice and process.
Contribute to the quality function, fostering collaboration and standardisation across QA engineers working on different projects and squads. Direct involvement in projects and as an individual contributor: participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, 3 amigos, retrospectives, etc.), performing hands-on exploratory testing, designing and implementing test cases, and collaborating with team members to meet project timelines and quality goals.
Drive the evolution of QA as a discipline within the company, focusing on continuous improvement, defining standards, the adoption of modern, automated testing techniques and quality assurance approaches. Contribute to and develop sophisticated automation frameworks that are effective, flexible, and reusable using modern testing frameworks.
Act as a point of contact for technical leads, product owners, and stakeholders for all things related to QA and testing, influencing the team to design and build for testability. Continuously improve the quality process by integrating feedback, metrics, and new testing tools/technologies.
Define and measure key quality metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage rates, test execution times, and regression rates. Understanding and addressing defects as they arise, contributing to their resolution, and expanding quality systems to pre-empt any potential recurrence in the future. Communicate progress and challenges with company-wide QA practices to senior management and project stakeholders.
Investing in personal training and development to maintain and advance your performance over time. Standing in and covering for your Quality Manager in their absence. Provide guidance and mentorship to QA engineers/software test analysts across various teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Ensure all your direct reports receive regular feedback and coaching so that they know where they are performing in their grade and what they need to do next to advance their career. Ensure all your direct reports have goals which align the personal development of the individual with the team and organisation goals and strategy.
Coach, mentor, and support the continuous improvement of scrum teams. Enable and support your teams running effective and efficient operational processes. Facilitate team growth through an "experiment and learn" mindset to ensure that the team and individuals are always looking for a better way.
