POSITION SUMMARY

The position requires an individual who can be an effective expert in a position with 6+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a captive unit of a multi-national firm. The person will be outgoing, and comfortable in a truly multinational environment, working with different cultures, styles and all levels of staff.

  1. Assist the Sr. Specialist /Manager to drive:
  2. New projects – Process efficiencies, BDPs etc.
  3. New Process transitions
  4. Focus towards Standardization / Harmonization / Automation
  5. Assist the Regional Finance leadership to implement the Regional Finance Center (RFC) Strategies

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting:

  1. Accounting of month end journals and other closing activities
  2. Thorough end-to-end process knowledge in GL/R2R (Closing, Reporting, Consolidation, Cash & Banking (JE), Fixed Assets, Reconciliations)
  3. Liaising with stakeholders and colleagues in other APAC offices
  4. Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations
  5. Supporting on the monthly P&L review and commentaries
  6. Various cost/profit centre reconciliations with control on minute details
  7. Client billing reconciliations
  8. Collection bookings
  9. Fixed Asset Accounting: Disposal, Additions etc.
  10. Cost Accounting: Amortizations, Accruals etc.
  11. Intercompany Accounting:
  12. Intercompany AR/AP review & reconciliation

Reporting:

  1. Monthly reporting to the stakeholders
  2. KPIs
  3. Dashboards
  4. Liaise with Regional and Global teams as appropriate for ad-hoc and other requirements.
  5. Project management: Ability to support the Manager/leadership to drive multiple organization projects.
  6. Support on Internal and external audits

Key Requirement:

  1. Strong Accounting concepts / knowledge
  2. Prior working knowledge in ERP, preferably SAP HanaS4
  3. Excellent MS-Office knowledge
  4. Ability to work under pressure
  5. Transition experience
  6. Exposure in R2R activities. (Record to Report)
  7. Should independently handle all types of queries from Peers/Client/Management
  8. Good presentation skills
  9. Eager to take up new initiatives and process improvements
  10. Should independently prepare reports/dashboards and analyze the contents
  11. Ability to create strong controlled process environment and adherence to controls and compliances
  12. Willingness to work in shift timings
  13. Excellent Client Management Abilities

  2. Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with Bain’s values and culture.
  3. High degree of accuracy, thorough approach to completing tasks, with a strong attention to details and zero defects

QUALIFICATIONS/CAPABILITIES

Essential:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience
  3. Experience in General Accounting and R2R
  4. 100% commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
  5. Advanced Excel skills
  6. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance
  7. Proficient Microsoft office skills
  8. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal

Desired but not Essential:

  1. Experience or exposure to international markets (especially APAC)
  2. Process Transition Experience
  3. Experience in a Captive Unit or Business consulting firm
  4. Revenue processes
  5. Taxation
  6. Understanding of taxation rules and adaptability to learn taxation procedures of various offices
  7. Correct tax accounting as per the local office rules and compliances
  8. Filing GST returns and monthly submissions (India specific)
  9. Treasury Management
  10. Supporting on the Short-term investment
  11. Fund Management
