Salesforce Platform Development Competency Head

Job Description:

The Salesforce Platform Development Competency Head is responsible for leading a Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on developing and maintaining Salesforce solutions within an organization, overseeing the design, implementation, and governance of all Salesforce platform development activities, ensuring adherence to best practices, and acting as the technical authority on the platform, while collaborating closely with business stakeholders to align Salesforce capabilities with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

1. Establish and manage the Salesforce CoE vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with overall business objectives.
2. Define and enforce Salesforce development standards, best practices, and governance guidelines.
3. Identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce platform capabilities to optimize business processes.

Technical Expertise:

1. Deep understanding of Salesforce development tools including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Process Builder, integration, and data management features.
2. Design and architect complex Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
3. Lead technical design sessions, providing guidance on solution development, integration, and data migration strategies.

Team Management:

1. Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities.
2. Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and quality assurance processes for Salesforce development initiatives.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, project managers, and system administrators to deliver successful Salesforce solutions.

Implementation and Maintenance:

1. Oversee the implementation of new Salesforce features, customizations, and integrations.
2. Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and address technical issues.
3. Monitor Salesforce system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.

Change Management and Training:

1. Build a strong community of Developers, Dev leads, Tech Leads, Architects.
2. Develop and deliver training programs to educate users on new Salesforce functionalities and best practices.
3. Facilitate user adoption and manage change related to Salesforce updates and upgrades.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 12+ years of Salesforce Platform Development Experience.
2. Proven experience in leading Salesforce development teams, including managing complex projects and delivering high-quality solutions.
3. Expertise in Salesforce development technologies like Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, Flows, Integration and data manipulation.
4. Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, security, and data governance best practices.
5. Experience with Salesforce configuration, customization, and integration with external systems.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with business stakeholders and technical teams.
7. PD1, PD2, Salesforce JavaScript, Sales and Service cloud certified.
8. Ability to work closely with key stakeholders including but not limited to Clients, Leads, Sales and pre-sales, Delivery and Practice teams.
9. Open to travel (25%).
