About The Role

As the Trade Marketing Specialist, reporting to the India Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies to drive brand visibility, increase sales, and enhance customer engagement. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between brand initiatives and retail execution.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Trade Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement trade marketing plans aligned with overall brand objectives and sales targets. Identify opportunities to differentiate our products in the market and enhance brand perception among consumers and trade partners.
  • Retail Activation: Collaborate with sales teams and key accounts to execute retail activation programs, including point-of-sale displays, promotions, and merchandising materials. Ensure consistent brand presence and visibility across trade channels.
  • Channel Development: Maximize distribution and visibility of our products. Negotiate promotional activities to drive sales and achieve market share objectives.
  • Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct market research and analysis to understand consumer preferences, competitor activities, and market trends. Utilize insights to identify opportunities for brand growth, product innovation, and market expansion.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Conceptualize and execute promotional campaigns and events to generate buzz, increase foot traffic, and drive sales at retail outlets. Coordinate with marketing teams to develop creative assets and promotional materials.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage trade marketing budgets effectively, allocating resources to initiatives with the highest potential for ROI. Monitor expenses, track performance metrics, and optimize spending to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to align trade marketing activities with overall business strategies and objectives. Communicate effectively to ensure seamless execution and coordination of initiatives.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all trade marketing activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and ethical standards. Uphold the integrity and reputation of the brand in all interactions with trade partners and stakeholders.

About You

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade marketing, brand management/sales.
  • Strong understanding of trade channels, retail dynamics, and consumer behaviour in the specified city or market.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful trade marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Adept in on ground activations, mall activations & conceptualising new ways to engage with customers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mind-set with the ability to interpret data and market insights to inform decision-making.
  • Creative thinking and strategic planning abilities to drive innovative trade marketing solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and trade marketing software/tools.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities.

Desired Experience

  • Prior experience working in a global or international organisation.
  • Previous experience in Retail is desirable.
