Job Description

A housekeeping desk attendant, also known as a housekeeping control desk attendant, receives guest requests, assigns tasks to housekeeping staff, and maintains records. They also ensure that the housekeeping cart is stocked and ready to use.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to requests: Respond to guest requests, such as for extra towels, blankets, or baby-sitting services.
  • Assign tasks: Assign housekeeping staff to rooms and tasks, such as making beds or cleaning bathrooms.
  • Maintain records: Maintain records of guest requests, room status, and maintenance issues.
  • Stock supplies: Ensure the housekeeping cart is stocked with supplies, such as toiletries, linens, and beverages.
  • Report issues: Report technical or safety issues to maintenance.
  • Post bills: Post laundry and mini bar bills to guest accounts.
  • Track keys: Maintain a key rack and track keys with a key control register.
  • Provide information: Provide information to floor staff about group arrivals, VIP guests, and rooms with Do Not Disturb (DND) signs.
