Job description

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager Project Operations to join our team in Noida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all project operations independently with full decision-making authority. This role requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage multiple teams, including project managers, engineering, architecture, purchase, and client management functions. The General Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of office interior projects from inception to completion. This includes managing day-to-day operations, optimizing workflows, driving efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Operations Management: Independently oversee and manage all aspects of project operations, ensuring projects are executed within timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Lead project teams and ensure effective project delivery.
  2. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, architects, and the purchase department. Provide operational insights, set expectations, and ensure teams are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Manage client expectations, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction through timely and effective communication.
  4. Engineering and Architecture Oversight: Oversee the engineering and architectural aspects of the project, ensuring that designs, specifications, and deliverables align with client requirements and project constraints.
  5. Procurement & Purchase Management: Ensure effective procurement and purchasing processes. Collaborate with the purchase department to source materials, negotiate with vendors, and ensure timely delivery of resources.
  6. Operational Excellence & Efficiency: Drive operational excellence by identifying areas for improvement in processes, systems, and resource allocation. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across projects.
  7. Risk & Quality Management: Identify potential risks and proactively implement solutions to mitigate them. Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the project lifecycle to meet client specifications and expectations.
  8. Decision-Making Authority: Make key decisions regarding project execution, resource allocation, vendor selection, and client interaction. Exercise authority over operational processes to ensure seamless project delivery.
  9. Reporting & Communication: Regularly report project status, challenges, and progress to the Director of Operations. Ensure clear communication across all departments involved in project execution and keep stakeholders informed of key updates.

Key Requirements:

  1. Experience: At least 10 years of hands-on experience in project operations, specifically in office interior projects. Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex office interior projects from start to finish.
  2. Education: A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. MBA or additional management qualifications will be a plus.
  3. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams. In-depth knowledge of project operations, construction processes, and office interiors. Strong decision-making ability and experience managing project budgets, timelines, and risks. Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and quality control systems. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Personality Traits: Authoritative and confident in decision-making. Hands-on approach with a deep understanding of ground-level operations. Proactive problem solver with excellent organizational skills. Results-driven with a focus on operational efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
