Job Description
The Technical Support II, IT Operations, provides end user support across the organization’s desktop, network, telephony and application(s) environment. The candidate will maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair/replace/upgrade computer systems, hardware, software and computer peripherals, as well as serve as an escalation point to ensure tickets/incidents are resolved according to SLAs. The position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. The candidate also needs to perform Asset Management, Asset Reconciliations, update the AST tool, manage e-Waste disposal, and maintain records of incoming/outgoing assets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the site assets, receiving new IT assets from vendors as per BOM in the purchase order and coordinating with the requester to verify the shipment.
- Keep the asset inventory up to date on a daily basis.
- On-board new IT assets by putting bar code and bond stickers as per STPI/SEZ requirements.
- Adhere to IT Asset Management Process for end-to-end asset life cycle management.
- Update and administer asset databases, tracking the life cycle of all assets.
- Track asset inward and outward in Excel with correct status.
- Track new asset delivery with vendors post PO release.
- Manage the IT store by placing assets properly and labeling them neatly.
- Update the AST tool with mandatory attributes including tagging assets to the correct asset owner/end user.
- Handle HD tickets to support the replacement of faulty IT assets from the production floor and users.
- Coordinate with vendors for the repair of faulty assets in both warranty and AMC cases.
- Manage movement of IT assets as per SEZ/STPI/Domestic regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Global Logistics Team for new asset procurement and asset movement.
- Support new projects and ramp-up from an IT asset provisioning perspective.
- Repair faulty assets ensuring they are available for use, working with procurement and vendors.
- Maintain documents such as gate passes, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Support periodic IT store/in-use inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure availability of spare HW and SW at each location.
- Participate in internal and client IT asset audits ensuring compliance with mandatory attributes.
- Support de-bonding of assets as per statutory requirements.
- Assist with exit clearance of employees from an IT asset perspective as per HR processes.
- Support Request for Change (RFC) implementation.
- Provide MIS and reporting support.
- Have hands-on experience with end user computing devices like desktops, laptops, hard phones, and Wi-Fi devices.
- Handle IT ticket resolutions based on ITIL framework, maintaining systems compliance and audits as per COPC and ISO 27001 standards.
- Install PGP encryption software on all desktops/laptops to comply with IT and customer security policies.
- Manage desktop administration and BIOS password resets.
- Be willing to work in rotational shifts, predominantly in night shifts, in a 24/7 environment.
