Test Engineering Technician

Responsibility for building testers, fixtures and environmental test chambers to the specification standards required.

Repairs testers, fixtures in accordance with the fault logging and down time system. Responsibility for diagnosing the fault and cause of fault and driving appropriate corrective actions to ensure minimal reoccurrence of failures.

• Supports the Test Engineer in the development and commission of test solutions executing the test qualification of the fixture and program as per the specific system qualification process.
• Provides the deliverables to support the solution in production to both the Test Support Function and Manufacturing Operations.
• Assists in the build and manufacture of testers, fixtures and environmental tooling as required to meet customer expectations.
• Provides the interface to the Test Support function, offering comprehensive documentation and training for all test solutions implemented.
• Coordinates with the Manufacturing function, providing comprehensive documentation and coordinating training and education for all test operations implemented.
• Monitors and contributes to the improvement of Test Yields, Efficiency, Intermittencies and Uptime providing accurate reporting and clear targets for improvement.
• Strives to consistently upgrade the test process balancing cost and coverage to provide an optimized and cost-efficient test process.
• Works closely with manufacturing and test support to ensure prioritization of support activities, coordinating the timetable for test readiness based on the weekly production schedule.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Provides hands-on technical support to the production areas.
• Troubleshoots technical faults, ensuring a fast response and resolution of all issues.
• Maintains all production test equipment in excellent working condition, ensuring consistent performance with a focus on quality, output, and yield.
• Assists in the installation, set-up, and commissioning of new production test equipment.
• Assists in the completion of Test Measurement equipment calibration as required.
• Provides input towards the continual improvement of the Test Engineering Department’s role within the organization, as dictated by business requirements.

• Computer literate with intermediate/advanced MS Office skills.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong planning and organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
• A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Minimum level 7 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant experience.
• BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics. Experience may substitute educational requirements.
• 1-2 years’ experience working as a Test Engineering Technician or similar in electronic manufacturing industry.
• Strong technical writing and good documentation practice.
• Strong analytical and PC skills.

• Experience in electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Experience in leading process improvements/lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
