Responsibilities:

  1. Define the electronics architecture of the product.
  2. Define Discipline Structure of product and its components in line with eBB (electronic building block) strategy.
  3. Ensure an optimized design to cost approach.
  4. Check for relevant patents, and raise IDMs where possible.
  5. Identify and support management of technical risks of the Discipline architectures in projects.
  6. Propose constant improvement in relation to the platform.
  7. Secure the product robustness, apply standards.
  8. Enforce standard Discipline solutions in line with eBB strategy.
  9. Review proposed architecture with other Disciplines as required.
  10. Capitalize on the know-how (Standardization, Specifications, technical reports, processes, and guidelines).
  11. Define new eBBs as required according to the roadmap, schedule the development of eBBs, and ensure that they are developed as per standard process.
  12. Provide inputs and requirements to the Discipline for the development.
  13. Review customer requirements to ensure Discipline architectures and roadmap is aligned across customers where feasible.
  14. Provide Technical Leadership and decision making to the Electronics Development Team.
  15. Select appropriate design solutions and electronics platforms.
  16. Participate in Formal product Design Reviews and Schematic/PCB Reviews.
  17. Support development and maintenance of the Electronics Development process.
  18. Sponsor Innovation and Creativity in the development of all products.
  19. Keep up to date with new Standards and general market information in the Industry.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 8 years experience working in an electronics development environment.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Ability to bring an electronics design from concept to volume manufacturing.
  5. Excellent knowledge of the electronics development process.
