Construction - Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor - Cork - Senior Position

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with Management to maintain the Company’s high Health, Safety and Environmental standards, and ensure ongoing development and implementation of improved EHS practices, policies, and procedures.
  2. Drive and lead site EHS Graduate Programme to align with corporate goals and develop programs and continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Remain abreast of new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all applicable legislation.
  4. Advise on Health, Safety and Environmental issues on a day-to-day basis on site, attend site meetings, and chair site safety meetings.
  5. Carry out and write site inspection reports and site audit reports, deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
  6. Recommend to Project/Site Managers appropriate corrective actions to address risks highlighted in inspection and audit reports.
  7. Write, review, and assess Contract Award/Pre-Construction Stage documents and Construction Management Plans.
  8. Write, review, and assess risk assessments, method statements and advise on how risks could be reduced further.
  9. Comply with company ISO Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to the Company process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required.
  10. Actively participate in the promotion of health-related risks and on-site training.
  11. Delivery of HSE processes, procedures, standards, and systems.
  12. Promote employee awareness/training for EHS.
  13. Training and onboarding of staff members.
  14. Promote a proactive HSE approach/attitude among all employees.
  15. Delivery of safety and environmental related activities.
  16. Other duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

BSc in Health and Safety/Higher Diploma SHWW/Diploma SHWW

Required Skills:

  1. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Safe Pass and Manual Handling.
  3. Construction Experience essential.
  4. 5 years experience essential.
